YOUR IDENTITY IN CHRIST 12

2 Corinthians 5:17: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”

The subject of your Identity in Christ is an important one; that is why you need to fully comprehend who you are in Christ. Some powerful transformation took place when you got saved and that is what we have been trying to unveil and understand. I believe today’s discovery will take you into a new dimension in your walk with God (2 Corinthians 3:18). So who are you in Christ?

xv. You are an ambassador for Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20). This is your new identity in Christ. However, who is an ambassador?
An ambassador is an accredited diplomat sent by a state as its permanent representative in a foreign country. So, this means you are now Christ’s ambassador. This is your new role and position in Christ and this is how you need to begin to see yourself. To understand your status, you need to know the roles of an ambassador as this will help you to function better in this new status. So, what are these roles?
– You are his representative here on earth. This means you represent Christ here now. This is how powerful you are, so stop seeing yourself as a nobody but as a promoter of Christ’s Kingdom, values, power, purpose etc. here on earth (1Tim.4:12).
– You are his masterpiece. This means you are Christ’s spokesman. You have been authorized to speak on Christ’s behalf. You are his voice. What an awesome responsibility to have as his ambassador. This is why you need to rise up to your new identity as the mouthpiece of Christ. May you never disappoint him (1Cor.2:16).
– You are his authorized messenger. This is how powerful you are now in Christ and this also shows the level of trust Christ has in you. The position of an ambassador is one of trust and respect and this is who you are now. You are therefore not an ordinary citizen but a high-ranking citizen. You are now an elder or senior because this is one of the meanings of the word ambassador in the Greek language. Glory be to God. So, you need to start seeing yourself as someone who has been empowered and equipped by Christ for this assignment. Start walking in your role as his trusted envoy everywhere you go. You have nothing to worry about for you have heaven’s resources at your disposal and you will not be put to shame in Jesus name. Arise and begin to shine as Christ’s Ambassador.

Prayer for Today: Father God, help me to fully come to terms with my new status in Christ as your ambassador here on earth. I embrace and appropriate by faith today this new status. Please, Holy Spirit, help me to discharge this responsibility with honour and dignity in Jesus name, amen.

CONFESSION: I am Christ’s ambassador here on earth. I represent Him everywhere I go. I am His promoter here on earth and I am also His mouthpiece. I am the voice of God to my generation and through me, God’s name will be glorified and lifted up! I am the messenger of the Lord of hosts and I enjoy the backing of heaven. Therefore, I will not be put to shame as I discharge my duties here on earth as his trusted envoy. Glory be to God!
