THEME:
WORKER’S ORIENTATION PROGRAMME

LESSON ONE (A):
HOW TO WORK EFFECTIVELY WITH YOUR LEADER (1Cor.16v10; Phil.2v19-22).

INTRODUCTION

There are proper ways of working with your Leader and also improper ways of working with your Leader. Your focus as a worker/follower is to ensure that you work in the right way(s) with your Leader in order for God’s work to move forward and get better. The goal of this training is to look at the ways in which we can effectively work with Leadership (1Cor.14v40).

A. Working Effectively with Leadership means Working in the right ways with your Leader in order to produce the desired results. It’s being fruitful or productive in your work with your Leader. Remember that a Leader cannot function without followers or Workers (Matt.4v19).

B. Questions to Ponder On:
a. How effective are you in your work with Leadership?
b. Are you working against your Leader or working with your Leader?
c. How will you describe your work with your Leader?
These are some of the questions you need to ask yourself if you will be successful in working with your Leader or not!

C. PARAMETERS TO GAUGE YOUR ABILITY TO WORK WITH YOUR LEADER
How well you work with your Leader will be determined by the following:

i. Your Level of Cooperation. How well do you cooperate with your Leader? i.e. totally, partially, wholeheartedly or loosely, etc. it’s difficult to WORK with someone that you refuse to Cooperate with. No effective WORK can be done without Cooperation (Ps.133v1; Exo.32v26; 2Tim.4v14-15).

ii. Your Level of Support. How well do you support your Leader? i.e. fully, little or no support, etc. No effective WORK can be done without the support of other team members. A leader cannot operate All Alone or by himself/herself. The greater the support, the easier the Work or Task (Neh.2v11, 18; Jug.6v34-35; Lk.8v2-3).

iii. Your Level of Participation. How well do you participate in the work, vision,
assignment, etc.? Barely or fully consistently or once in a while, etc. No effective Work can be done without the active participation of the workers/followers (Neh.3v5; Rom.16v3-4). Your Involvement/Participation is an indication of how well you work (Jer.48v10; Phil.2v20: 1v5: 4v15-16).

iv. Your Level of Submission. How well do you submit to your Leader/Vision of the house? Do you rebel against your Leader or resisting the Vision? Or have you fully bought into the vision and fully submitted to Authority? No effective WORK can be done without Submission. It’s difficult to work with someone you don’t Respect (1Pet.5v5; Eph.5v21; 1Sam.22v14: 18v5, 13-14) (David).

v. Your Level of Commitment. How committed are you to your Leader? i.e. totally, partially etc. No effective WORK can be done without Commitment (Phil.2v19-22; Jn.6v66-68; Ruth 1v16-18). It’s difficult to succeed in any work that you are not committed to. Phil.2v25-30 (Epaphroditus)

Thoughts to Reflect On?

i. What’s your level of Cooperation with Leadership? We can’t be successful in our work with leadership if we are not willing to cooperate fully.

ii. How Supportive are you of your Leader? The greater the Support, the greater the results, and vice versa.

iii. To what extent are you involved in the Work? The Greater your participation, the Better the Results, and vice versa.

iv. How Submissive are you to Leadership? It’s difficult to achieve more without
submission!

v. How Committed are you to Leadership? It takes commitment to achieve Great
Results!
