(1Timothy 4:14: Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the eldership’
You are welcome back to our discussion on understanding your gifts and talents. In our last lesson, I shared some of the truths you need to know about your gift. In today’s devotion, we will be looking at more truths along this line.
Basic Truths About Your Gift(s)
- Everybody is talented and gifted. Yes, you are a talented person and you have something special. There is nobody without one gift or the other; so, stop saying you have nothing. According to research, the average person has between 500-700 skills and abilities. Wow! That is more than enough talent to deal with. So, dearly beloved, know it with absolute authority that you are extraordinarily gifted! (I Peter 4:10).
- God carefully chose, selected, and gave you your gift. Your maker knows what is best for you because He knows you better. This is why you should not compare yourself with others or even complain about your gifts, for He has given you what is best for you (Matthew 25:15). So, what is your response to what you have been given? Do you appreciate or despise your gifts?
- Your gifts are God’s investment in your life. This is how to see your gifts. They are great investments and not liabilities. Understand from today that your gifts and talents are an investment and that makes you a treasure house of God because of the things you carry (2Corinthians 4:7).
- You get the best out of your gift by putting it to work. So, hiding or keeping your gift(s) will do you no good! Your talent is not meant for decoration but to make an impact on others. Are you adding value with your talents or are you just cumbering the ground? (Matthew 25:16-17, 28-29).
My dear reader, I pray that this insight you are receiving will bring about a transformation in the deployment of your gifts and talents.
