Luke2verse36-38 ‘V36-And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with an husband seven years from her virginity; V37-And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day. V38-And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem.’

You are welcome back to our discussion on the subject of commitment. Commitment is an essential quality that you need to possess if you will ever amount to anything in life and also in God’s Kingdom. This is why you need to understand what commitment is really about, if it’s going to profit you at the end of the day. One major thing you can’t take away from the life of Anna in our text scripture (Luke2verse36-38) is her commitment to God and his house. In the same vein, what can you say about your commitment level? In order for you to have a great testimony, you need to understand some basic truths about commitment. So let’s consider those truths right away:

4. Commitment can grow. It has the potential to grow, increase or get better. It just depends on what you do with it. So what exactly are you doing with your commitment? Acts9v22; Lk9v28, 32

5. Commitment differs from one person to another person. Our commitment levels are not the same, some are more committed than others! And primarily, it’s based on your love, passion and what you are doing with your commitment. So you don’t need to blame anybody! The ball is actually in your court and you also have the power to write a new testimony. Jn6v60, 66.

6. Commitment will be tested and tried. Your commitment will be tested by challenges, position, power, and influence to mention just a few. What is important is how you respond to the tests that come your way. Some respond positively, while others respond negatively! My dear reader, so how have you chosen to respond? Jn21v15-17.

7. Commitment can be gauged or measured on different fronts or areas. Some of the parameters that can be used to gauge your commitment are as follows:
-God. How committed are you to God? Matt15v8-9
-God’s Work. How committed are you to God’s House? Philip2v20, 25, 30
-Service. How committed are you to service?
-Vision. How committed are you to your vision, goals and aspirations? Jn2v17
-Leadership. How committed are you to your leaders? Heb13v17
-Teams and Ministries. How committed are you to your teams and ministries?
-Brothers and Sisters. How committed are you to your fellow brothers and sisters?

Dearly Beloved Ones, I believe that you are receiving wisdom and insights that will take your commitment levels to another level! May this be a reality in your walk and experience in Jesus name amen.
