Rom.8v14-16: For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father”. The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God.

You are welcome back to our discussion on the subject of hearing from God. As you can see from our text scripture in (Rom.8v14-16), God wants to lead and guide us as his children. He will surely guide you via the avenues he has put in place either through the inward witness or inner voice of the Holy Spirit, as you can see in (Rom.8v14-16). Whichever way, God is committed to your being led by his Spirit; this is why you need to take the issue of divine guidance seriously because many things are connected to it. And so far, by his grace, I have shared three reasons why you need to know how to hear from God. Today, I will go on further to share with you four more reasons why hearing from God is very important. So if you are ready for this, let’s examine these reasons right away.

WHY YOU NEED TO KNOW HOW TO HEAR FROM GOD?

1. So that you won’t miss out on God’s will for your life. Knowing how to hear from God will enable you to know and also ultimately follow God’s will for your life. So many people today are walking in the dark or are not sure of God’s plan for their lives. The answer to this is to know how to hear his voice. With your ability to hear his voice in place in your life, you never wander or grope in the dark anymore. So rejoice, child of God, for it’s a new day for you. I pray that the voice of God will come clearly to you and also be clearer to you as you develop your capacity to hear God (Eph.5v17).
2. Because it’s one of the visible proofs of sonship. One way you know you are a son or daughter of the Most High is by your ability to access his voice or mind. As you can see from (Rom.8v14), it’s the heritage of sons to hear the voice of their father. However, for children, they are still operating on the dimension of the inner witness of the Spirit, according to (Rom.8v16). So, my dear reader, on which level are you operating? It’s time to move unto sonship. It’s time to grow up. It’s time for you to be able to hear God effectively. This is why you ought to be interested in hearing from God. So will you take up this challenge today? (1Cor.13v11)
3. Because of the times and season that we live in today. We live in challenging and turbulent times like the scriptures have already spoken about in (Jn.16v33). So if you all survive, succeed and even have significance in this season as a Believer, you need to know how to hear God. This applies to every area of your life, either spiritually, emotionally, socially, financially, professionally, etc. My dear reader, this is one of the major reasons why you need to develop your ability to hear God distinctively and also for yourself. Your ability to hear God in this season will separate you and also put you in a different league from others. May these teachings enable you to hear God better in Jesus name, amen (2Tim.3v1).
4. So that you will be able to fulfil your colourful destiny. Your ability to become what God says you will become or what God says you will accomplish is dependent on hearing from God. In fact, your ability to arrive at your expected destination in life lies greatly on this principle too. So I hope you can now see why you need to develop your capacity to hear from God. Destiny beckons unto you! The World is waiting for your manifestation, so it’s time to rise up and sharpen your capacity to hear from God.

Prayer for Today: Heavenly Father, thank you for sharpening my capacity to hear from you. Thank you for taking me to new levels in my ability to hear you.

CONFESSION: I hereby take seriously from today my ability to hear God. I am eager and willing to learn how to hear from heaven. As I cooperate with God and his word, my capacity to discern his voice is being enhanced and empowered by his spirit. My days of groping in the dark are over, for the light of God is my guide. The Holy Spirit is my leader and guide, and therefore, I will not be led astray or deceived anymore. I have his illumination and help concerning every area of my life and endeavours in Jesus name, amen. Hallelujah, it’s a new day for me.
