(Psalm 34:4: I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears)

I do hope that our discussion on the remedies to all your fears has been of great blessing to you so far. You can overcome all your fears. The remedies are available in God and the same God that did it for David in Psalm 34:4 can also do it for you. Our discourse today will be centered on another remedy to overcoming your fears, so let’s check it out.

iv. Feed your faith and starve your fears. In order to walk in victory over all your fears, this is what you need to do. Stop feeding your fears and starving your faith, rather feed your faith and starve your fears. In fact, the more you feed your faith the lesser the stronghold of fear over your life. So, which one are you feeding: your faith or fear? Only you can answer this question! When it comes to feeding your faith, it’s something

  • You do regularly or consistently (Joshua 1 v 8).
  • You have to keep doing until you die (Psalm  1:1-3).

Why is this so? Because the task of feeding your faith is a continuous exercise and this is the price you need to pay if you really want to dominate all your fears. So, you need to brace yourself up for this challenge.

Since you now know that you need to feed your faith and starve your fears, it’s important to find out how to do this. It might interest you to know that the way you feed your faith is the same way you feed your fears! Therefore, to feed your faith you need to:

  • Pay attention to what you hear (Mark 4:24)
  • Pay attention to what you think (Philippians 4:8)
  • Pay attention to what you say (Proverbs  18:21)

In other words, if you want to dominate your fears, you need to stop listening to your fears. Stop thinking about your fears and stop talking about your fears; rather, start listening to the things that will build up your faith. Start thinking on the things that will build up your faith and start talking about the things that will build up your faith. The best place to find what to listen to, think upon and talk about is the word of God, which is the ultimate source of faith (Romans  10:17).

My dear reader, are you ready to make this move? I encourage you to do so today, so that you can begin to walk in dominion over all your fears!

Thoughts for meditation:

  1. To defeat your fears; you need to feed your faith and starve your fears.
  2. You feed your faith and starve your fears by:
  • Paying attention to what you hear
  • Paying attention to what you think
  • Paying attention to what you say

Prayer for Today: Heavenly Father, I am sorry for feeding my fears and starving my faith. From today, I decide to start feeding my faith and also to starve my fears. Holy Spirit, I receive your help in doing this in Jesus name, amen.

CONFESSION: I starve my fears and I feed my faith. My faith is in ascendency over my fears; therefore, my faith rules over my fears. I give my attention to the word of God; therefore, I walk in dominion over my fears. I refuse to give my attention to the things that weaken my faith and I refuse to give attention to the things that empower my fears. The dominion of fear is waning and totally broken over my life. Glory be to my Jesus, I am free!
