Proverbs 18 verse 21: ‘Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.’
There is power in your words; hence, you need to pay close attention to what you say. As you can see from our text scripture (Proverbs 18 verse 21), life and death are in your words. The result you get depends on the kind of words you allow to dominate your life. Matt 12 v 37. My dear reader, you need to know that your mouth is a powerful tool. This is why you should consider wisely and carefully whatever you utter out of your mouth. How do I know that your words are Indeed powerful? There is power in your words because:
1. What you say affects your thoughts.
Think about this for a moment and see if it doesn’t change the way you look at your Words. Your words control or shape your thought life. This is why you need to pay attention to your Words. Pro6v2
2. What you say affects your heart.
What you say goes into the soil of your heart. This is why you ought to start paying attention to the words in your mouth. So, my dear reader, you need to watch what you say. Pro 18 v 20.
3. What you say is what you will have or get.
What kind of harvest are you reaping? Do you know what you reap is based on the kind of seeds (i.e., words) you have been sowing? If I were you, I would start paying attention to my words. Gal 6 v 7: Num 13 v 30
4. What you say is what will come to pass.
If you don’t want what you say to come to pass, then don’t speak it or voice it. Matt 18 v 18
5. What you say is what you will become.
You are a product of your words. In fact, you can never be greater than your words. Your words create the world you live in. This is why your words will shape and govern your life. Rom 10 v 9-10
So, my dear reader, it’s time to start paying attention to the words in your mouth. Your confession is very powerful; make sure you use your mouth wisely. Instead of just saying anything, say what you believe. Affirm what you want and not your fears. You will see your words working for you and not against you as you start doing this.

Prayer for today: Holy Spirit, help me to pay more attention to the words of my mouth in Jesus name, amen.
CONFESSION: I believe in the power that is in my words. I use my words wisely and carefully. I choose my words wisely! I am not careless with my words. As I say what I want and desire, I begin to reap the great harvests of positive transformation in my life in Jesus name, amen.
