The Importance of Faith

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

As believers, we are called to live by faith. (Heb 10 v 38: Gal 3 v 11). Our lives ought to be regulated by faith. This makes the subject of faith very important, as we can see from our text scripture (Hebrews 11 verse 6). So why is your faith important and crucial? Of what importance is living by faith?

These are some of the questions I intend to answer, by his grace, in this lesson. So without much ado, let’s examine these reasons right away.

WHY YOUR FAITH IS IMPORTANT

1. Because your survival and success depend on your faith. What you live by is what you depend on and what you can’t do without. It’s just like oxygen or water; they are things that we can’t do without. In the same vein, as God expects you to live by faith, it simply means that your life depends on it. Dearly beloved, this is why living by faith is important. Rom 1 v 17

2. Because it takes faith to receive. Your faith determines your ability to receive what God had promised or your inheritance. Since faith is your channel or avenue of receiving things, you ought to pay more attention to it. Mk 11 v 24

3. Without faith, you can’t please God. This is what our text scripture (Heb 11 v 6) actually says. This simply means that it takes faith to please God. One thing that excites and gladdens the heart of the Father is when we live by Faith. Pro 16 v 7. This is why living by faith is not an option but a requirement.

4. Your faith is your weapon of victory. If you want to really win in life, your faith has to be in place. Faith is what makes winning cheap and possible. Without faith, failure and disappointment is guaranteed. Dear brothers and sisters, this is one of the reasons why you have to live by Faith too. 1Jn 5 v 4 – 5

5. It’s by faith you stand. Faith gives you stability and assurance in times of difficulties and challenges. It’s faith that makes you strong and stable in the race of life. In fact, some have fallen away because they have lost their faith walk. Rom 11 v 20. Therefore, if you will stand tall and strong, you need to hold fast to your Faith.
I believe that with these reasons, you will see the need to take more seriously your faith walk than ever before. I see you winning big time in Jesus name, amen.
