Psalm 75 verses 6 – 7: For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.’
I do believe that you have been enjoying this series of teachings on the basis of promotion. As you can see from our text scripture in Psalm 75 verses 6 – 7, our God is in the business of promoting people and things. In fact, nobody promotes better than he does, but there is a way or manner by which he goes about promoting people. I have shared two such principles with you; today, by his grace, I will be sharing another important criterion for promotion. Let’s examine it right away.
CONDITIONS FOR PROMOTION:
3. Diligence.
Diligence is a major key to promotion. The more diligent you are, the greater your promotion, and the less diligent you are, the lesser your promotion. Hence, your promotion is in your hands. Pro 22 v 29: Rom 12 v 11. So, what is diligence?
– It is the steady application in business of any kind, the constant effort to accomplish what is undertaken, the exertion of body or mind without unnecessary delay or sloth; due attention, industry, and assiduity. Diligence is the philosopher’s stone that turns everything into gold.
How diligent are you? Do you know that you can measure your diligence level? You can do that by asking yourself the following questions:
a. Do you do your work on time or leave it undone?
b. Are you punctual to work, or do you come late?
c. Do you take responsibility, or are you full of excuses? Lk 14 v 28
d. Do you finish what you start or leave it uncompleted?
e. Are you excited about work, or do you frown or dislike work?
f. Are you self-motivated or wait for others to push you to work?
g. Are you maximizing your talents, or are you hiding them or burying them?
Dearly beloved, the answers you give to these questions will tell whether you are diligent or not. It’s time to raise the bar with regard to your diligence level.

Prayer for today: I imbibe the culture of diligence in all that I do in Jesus’ name amen
CONFESSION: I say yes to diligence and no to a lifestyle of laziness and excuses. I choose to be diligent in what I do and in all of my ways. Diligence is becoming my lifestyle and way of life. As I walk diligently, I prosper in my ways and I am lifted above my fellows! This is my testimony in Jesus’ name, amen.
