Pro.26v2: Like a flitting sparrow, like a flying swallow, so a curse without cause shall not alight

Nothing just happens! Behind every effect, there is a cause! This is also true when it comes to our prayer lives. There are reasons why some prayers are answered and some are not answered. This has been the basis of our discussion for some time in this series of teachings. I believe you are gaining wisdom and power that will bring your prayer life to another dimension. Today, by his grace, I will share two more reasons why we experience disappointments in our prayer lives. So without much ado, let’s examine these reasons right away.

THE REASONS FOR UNANSWERED PRAYERS:

1. Violation of some spiritual laws. Just like we have physical laws, we also have spiritual laws, and at times, the reason for unanswered prayers is breaking these spiritual laws. There are consequences for breaking laws, and in this regard, it affects the positive outcome of your prayers (Eccle.10v8). For instance, one major area we violate the spiritual laws is what we say with our mouths. At times, we negate our prayers by speaking contrary to what we pray. Our doubts and unbelief neutralize the power of our prayers. So it’s important to pay attention to the words of your mouth. Never say what you don’t want. Stop saying what you don’t mean. Stop speaking negatively. No matter what the circumstances may look like, make sure that your mouth is working for you and not against you. It’s better to keep quiet than to just say anything. Let an end come to the violation of spiritual laws in your life. In this way, you will be giving your prayers a greater chance of coming to pass (Matt.12v37).

2. Not growing up spiritually. At times, the reason why some prayers go unanswered is because of refusing to grow up spiritually. There is a time to be a child; there is a time to be spoon-fed or carried by others but there is also the time to grow up and also begin to carry others (1 Cor.13v11). There is a limit to which your faith can work or carry others. The truth of the matter is that everyone needs to develop their faith. And if this will happen, you would need to grow up spiritually. Another way of saying this is that you need to start taking responsibility for yourself and spiritually speaking to secure answers to your prayers. So my dear reader, are you ready to take responsibility? Are you willing to grow up spiritually? The answers you give to these questions will determine whether you will grow in your capacity to receive answers to your prayers. In fact, one of the reasons we have a lot of prayer contractors or people depending on others to pray for them is because they are lazy, spiritually speaking. This is why you need to grow up so that you can learn the business and principles of prayer. For its only those who grow up spiritually would be able to enjoy the deeper dimensions and treasures of the Kingdom. So it’s time to take your spiritual growth seriously so as to get better results in your prayer life. May today usher you into a new level in your walk with the Lord.
