Pro.26v2: Like a flitting sparrow, like a flying swallow, so a curse without cause shall not alight.

There is no smoke without fire and there is no curse without a cause. This means that there are reasons why certain things happen. In the same vein, there are reasons why we receive answers to our prayers and vice-versa. God wants you to know and experience the joy of answered prayers (Jn.16v23-24). This is why you should be concerned when you are not getting the desired results in your prayers. This is what this teaching is all about. I sincerely hope and believe that your prayer life will change forever as you take heed to these truths in Jesus’ name, amen. So what are some other reasons for unanswered prayers?

THE REASONS FOR UNANSWERED PRAYERS:

1. Unconfessed Sin. One major thing about sin is that it will take you away from God. Sin seeks to severe relationships or ties with the Almighty (Pro.28v13). So my dear reader, in order to enjoy answers to your prayers, you need to stay from sin. There are several definitions of sins in the Bible and I would like to share some of them with you:

  • Anything that is not of faith (Rom.14v23).
  • Knowing to do good and not doing it (Jam.4v17)
  • Transgression of the Law (1Jn.3v4).
  • All unrighteousness (1Jn.5v7).

These are just some of the common definitions of sin that you need to pay attention to if you want answers to your requests. Dearly Beloved, what is important is to stay away from any form of sin if you want answers to your prayers.

2. Praying Amiss. This is another reason why some prayers are not answered. To pray amiss is to pray against or outside the will of God. When you pray like this, there is no guarantee for such kind of prayer. This is why you should always pray in line with God’s plan and purpose for your life. This is the basis for answers to your prayers. So my advice to you is this before you pray to God, do anything, always find out what God has to say about it. In this way, you will be able to secure answers to your requests. So my dear reader, stop praying for the things you know are outside the parameters of God’s will and plan for your life. I know at times that there is a contention between your own will and the will of God but it’s only better to surrender to God’s will because that is God’s path for answers to your progress (Matt.6v10; Isa.43v26). Dearly Beloved, it’s time for you to make paramount God’s will as per the things you are praying for if you want to experience the joy of answered prayers.

Prayer for Today: Precious Holy Spirit, my heart desires is to know the joy of answered prayers any time I pray in Jesus’ name. Let this be a reality in my life and walk.

CONFESSION: By the grace of God, I am reaping the harvest of my investment in praying. For my prayer is a delight and not a chore. Prayer is a blessing and not a burden. Therefore, all the promises and blessings of Jehovah concerning the art of prayer shall be mine. As I walk with the Holy Spirit and by your word, my prayer time is becoming the most profitable part of my walk with God. Hallelujah!
