Planning for The New Year 5

Luke 14verse28-30 ‘For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it? V29-Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him, V30-saying, this man began to build, and was not able to finish.’

Proper preparation will prevent poor performance, while poor preparation will promote poor performance. This underscores the importance of planning or preparation in any endeavour of life. And when it comes to planning for the new year, it’s not something you can leave to chance. This is why I have shared with you some key components of getting ready for a new year. And today, by His grace, I will proceed further by sharing with you some other vital things to consider while planning for the new year. If you are ready, here we go!

5. Preview the journey ahead of you. Another way of saying this is to preview the incoming year. How can you do such a thing? You can do so through the eyes of faith and your imagination. Rom4v17. The almighty has given you the power of visualization, so use it to your advantage. So begin to play out the new year in your mind! Think ahead of you by forecasting the new year. Think aloud by feeling the pulse, setting the stage and testing the waters. Think through the new year by going over the journey in your mind. These are some of the things that are previewing entails and as you do this, God will grant you victory as per the new year.

6. Work on your plans for the new year. Nothing much will happen with your beautiful plans if you refuse to work it. After doing the tedious work of planning, the other work that needs to be done is taking decisive actions per your plans. Don’t just plan your work but work your plans. Nothing is easier than saying words. Nothing is harder than living with them every day. Jam2v20,26. So what kind of strategy do you have in place to work your plans? Whatever it may be, just make sure that you do something every day that is moving you in the direction of your goals and aspirations for the new year. Every step counts and it will ultimately contribute to the fulfillment of your desires. So start putting your plans to work. Be committed and sold out to the work. God will bless your efforts if you don’t quit. Lk 9v62
