2Cor.5v7: For we walk by faith, not by sight.

How do you walk by faith as a child of God? This is what these series of teachings are all about. There are ways of walking or living by faith and as children of God, we need to be familiar with those ways if we are to really please God. If Apostle Paul could say in (2Cor.5v7) that he walks by faith and not by sight, then it means it’s possible to live this kind of life. My dear reader, I don’t know what level of faith you are currently operating in, but the good news is that you can take it to another level. You can develop your capacity to walk by faith (Heb.10v38). However, before we begin to examine how to live by faith, there are a couple of things you need to know about walking by faith.

BASIC TRUTHS ABOUT WALKING BY FAITH:

  1. It’s a journey and not a one-off event. It is not a day’s work but a daily walk. This simply means that walking by faith is something you do daily, so my dearly beloved, are you ready to commit yourself to this journey? (Isa.28v10)
  2. It’s on various levels. Our capacities to live or walk by faith is not the same. Some people are on a higher walk of faith than others. Why is this so? It is because they have developed their faith over time. So the big question to ask yourself is to what extent are you using your faith? (2Thes.1v3).
  3. It’s not easy but it’s possible. Living by faith is quite challenging and interesting. Why is this so? It’s so because walking by faith for many of us is a new way of living. For most of us, we have been used to living in a particular way before, so learning a new and better way of living can be challenging. But glory be to God; it’s not something you cannot do.
  4. It’s something you need to take personal responsibility for. I can’t walk by faith for you. It’s something you have to do yourself. Walking by faith is a deliberate and intentional act. So are you ready to take personal responsibility? (Dan.1v8)
  5. It’s unnatural. Walking by faith is strange and unfamiliar to the world. It may even make you look strange, odd or different from others because the ways of God are not the ways of man. But at the end of day, it will you in command of the situation of life (Mk.5v39-40). So my dear reader, it’s time for you to develop your capacity for faith. It’s time for you to explore the riches of walking by faith. Will you rise to this challenge today?
