2 Peter3verse18: ‘But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever. Amen.’

Dearly beloved, I believe that you are enjoying this series of teachings on growing up spiritually. Growing spiritually is one of the significant things that must happen to you as a believer if you will ever maximize your potential in Christ. Honestly speaking if you apply these principles that we have been talking about there is no way you won’t make progress in your walk with God. My focus in today’s lesson will be to share with you why you need to grow spiritually. Yes, are there any reasons for you to grow spiritually? The answer is a definite Yes! This is why I believe that every believer should take their spiritual growth seriously! So here we go!

THE IMPORTANCE OF GROWING SPIRITUALLY:

1. Because God wants you to grow spiritually. This means that your spiritual life is of great importance to him. And why is God interested in your spiritual life? Because he is your heavenly father and he wants the best for you. For there is no earthly father who won’t want the best for his child. In any case, if a child is not growing well, it is a major source of concern for the parents. 1Cor3v1-2; Pro10v1.

So my dear friends your spiritual growth will bring glory to God and also make him to be able to depend on you more. Jn15v8. I hope that you can now see the reasons why you need to grow spiritually.

2. Because Satan is after and against your spiritual growth. He does not want you to grow spiritually at all or as much as you can. And I think the answer should be obvious to you! Because Satan knows the value and significance of you growing spiritually! This is why he is trying to limit, obstruct, and hinder your spiritual growth. He would be glad if you were preoccupied with other things aside from growing spiritually. Jn10v10; Matt13v25. This is why you must not give him any room at all and this is another reason why you should take your spiritual growth seriously. Eph4v27; 1Pet5v8-9.

So it’s time for you to grow spiritually so that you can break the dominion of the enemy over your life! Are you going to rise up to this challenge?

See you in the next lesson for the continuation of this series!
