John 15verse1-2, 8 ‘V1-I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. V2-Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. V8-Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

I strongly believe you are enjoying this series of teachings on being a fruitful believer. It’s God’s desire and purpose for you to be fruitful. And in the name of Jesus Christ, nothing will prevent you from being fruitful as he has ordained. So how can you be a fruitful believer? I will share this with you in the remaining part of these lessons. So you are ready for this?  Let’s examine the strategies for fruitfulness in our lives.

1. By abiding in Christ. This is a very important part of the fruit-bearing process that you cannot boycott if you want to be fruitful. This is why you see the emphasis in John 15verse1-8 on abiding. No branch can be fruitful without abiding in the vine. This is why you need to abide in Christ if you will be exceedingly fruitful. So what does it mean to abide in Christ? It means:

-Stay connected with Christ. Don’t allow anything or anyone to move you away from him. Jn15v5.

-To be rooted in Christ. Moving here and there will not allow you to be fruitful. So stay where you are planted. Ps92v13

-To abide in his Word. Abiding in His Word is abiding in Christ. Jn15v7

It’s Interesting to know that the word abides in our text is the Greek word (Meno) and it means the following:

-To remain, tarry, not to depart, to continue, to stay where you are physically, not to change, to stay strong in one’s resolve

-To remain in the same place or position over some time. It means to reside, stay, live, lodge, or dwell.

Meno describes something that remains where it is, continues in a fixed state, or endures.

My dearly beloved ones, this is how we ought to abide in Christ if we want to be fruitful and stay fruitful. So what is your resolution today? Your guess is as good as mine! I believe that you have chosen to abide!
