Joshua 21 verse45 ‘There failed not ought of any good thing which the LORD had spoken unto the house of Isreal; all came to pass.’
In reality, You can receive God’s promises as the children of Israel did in our text scripture (Joshua 21 verse45). Our heavenly father is not just a talker but a doer! He does not just speak but he is a performer of his promises. So what promises of God are you standing on? I believe that through these series of teachings, they shall see the light of day in Jesus name, amen.
However, before we learn about appropriating God’s promises, there are some basic truths about his promises that you need to know! I have shared some of them with you in our last lesson but my focus in this lesson is to share the remaining ones with you, so if you are ready, here we go!
3. There is nothing wrong with the promises of God. The problem most of the time is with the receiver. This is why it’s important to always examine ourselves very well to see where we are missing the mark because God cannot lie! So settle this truth forever in your heart that God’s promises are perfect. Ps19v7-12.
4. Some promises of God are personal, while some are general. This simply means that not all promises are for you. For example, God made some personal promises to the following people:
Abraham -Gen12v1-3
Isaac -Gen27v1-3
Jacob -Gen31v3
King Solomon -1Ki3v12:10v23-24
Whereas the gift of salvation is a general promise. Rev3v20; 2Pet3v9
5. Some promises of God are to be fulfilled in the future, some are being fulfilled now and some have already been fulfilled. This is an important understanding that you must have concerning God’s promises if it’s going to come to pass in your life. For example, some of the promises meant to be fulfilled in the future are as follows: The Rapture, The Millennial, The judgment of the world etc.
Whereas on the other hand, some examples of fulfilled promises are: Jesus going to the Cross, Salvation, Healing, Deliverance e.tc.
And for promises that are being fulfilled now, a good example is the prophecies concerning the last days. 2Tim3v1
So, my dear reader, it is important for you to understand this dichotomy if you will be a recipient of his promises.
6. Most of God’s promises are conditional. These simply means that there are conditions attached to experiencing these promises. Isa1v19. And the good thing about these conditions is that they are not grievous conditions. It is something that you can meet up with! So rejoice because God wants you to experience the fullness of his promises.

Prayer for Today: Lord, help me not to miss out on your promises for my life in Jesus name, amen.
CONFESSION: In the name of Jesus, his promises will speak abundantly in my life! My life will truly be a reflection of his promises as I apply myself to the conditions attached to his promises! This shall be my testimony and song in Jesus name, amen.
