John 14:16-18: “And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that he may abide with you forever, the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him; for He dwells with you, and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you”

I am super excited about this series on the Holy Spirit as our comforter as we can see in (Jn.14:16-18). The ministry of the Holy Spirit as our comforter is designed by God to make us better and stronger believers. His comforting ministry is supposed to affect every area of your life. I pray that this will be your testimony in Jesus name, Amen.

Today by His grace, I want us to consider some other implications of the Holy Spirit as our comforter which will empower your life for the better as a believer:

  • He will testify of Jesus. He shall bear witness, give evidence, and bear record about the person of Jesus. He is in your life to testify that Jesus is who He says he is. He shall bear witness of the saving, delivering, prospering, enabling et cetera. power of Jesus Christ to the world. Glory be to God; you have a testifier in the Holy Spirit (John 15:26).
  • He will reprove the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8-11). The word “reproves” in John 16:8 means to admonish, convict, convince, or rebuke. He is the agent of the father who has comes to convict us of our wrongs and evil deeds. Notice he “convicts” not “condemns”.
  • He shall glorify Jesus. He shall not magnify Himself but exalt Jesus above every other thing and name (John 16:14). He is here to magnify Jesus in your life and endeavor; so it’s time to acknowledge the ministry of the Comforter in your life. As you begin to do this, I see a new you in the offing.

PRAYER FOR TODAY: Holy Spirit, I acknowledge you as my testifier and magnifier. I acknowledge your role in my life as my comforter and the one who convicts me. Thank you for being such an indispensable entity in my life. Thank you for coming into my life and walk. I know I will never be the same again in Jesus name.

CONFESSION: I have the spirit of Christ. I have a blessed comforter. He lives in me and testifies of Jesus through me for He is at work in me to do of His good pleasure. He convicts me and does not condemn me. I live and appreciate your work in my life. I believe as I walk in partnership with the Holy Spirit, Jesus will be glorified in all that I do. My association with the Holy Spirit is changing me for the better and drawing me closer to the Father. Thank you Father for making my life an embodiment of the comforting ministry of the Holy Spirit.
