2Chro.27v6: So Jotham became mighty, because he prepared his ways before the Lord his God.

It’s important to make solid preparations for a new year if you really want to make the most out of that year. This is why I have been sharing with you this all-important subject matter! So, how is your preparation for the new year? I strongly believe that the principles I have been sharing with you will help you to maximize a new year. Today by His grace, I intend to share 2 more tools that will help you in your preparation for the new year.

TOOLS FOR GETTING READY FOR A NEW YEAR:

  1. Set goals in line with God’s mind for you in the new year. Once you have God’s directives/instructions for the new year, set goals/objectives around His purpose for you. This is how to effectively maximize the new year. Don’t just set any goals but set goals in line with His plans for you (Pro.16v3). A goal is a dream with a deadline. Goals represent your targets or your aspirations for the new year. Goals are very important if you really want to succeed because successful people are goal-oriented people. So how should you go about setting your goals? You can go about setting your goals by using the acronym “BEST”. The acronym BEST means:

Believable – Aim high but don’t set impossible goals.
Energizing – Set goals that excite you and give you a reason to get up in the morning and tackle them.
Specific – Clearly define your goals. Don’t set vague goals (1Cor.14v8).
Timely – If your goals don’t have a deadline, it’s a daydream. A goal without a number is just a slogan.

So, endeavour to set your goals for the new year putting these criteria into consideration as this will help you to make the most of the new year.

2. Depend on the help of Jehovah. After all is said and done, you need God’s help in order to successfully navigate through a new year. This is why it’s important for you to rely and depend on His help (Ps.127v1). It’s one thing to labor and organize yourself; it’s another thing for God to help you. Make no mistake about this, you need the help of God in order to make a success out of the new year. So, to what extent is God involved in your preparation for the new year? The arm of flesh will fail but God’s help is never unfailing. My dear reader, make sure you prepare for the new year with a deep sense of preparation on the Lord. I guarantee you that you will not be put to shame in Jesus name, amen.

Dear friends, I pray that these insights I have shared with you as per getting ready for the new year will be instrumental in helping you get the most out of a new year.
