(Psalm 66:16-17: Come and hear, all you who fear God, and I will declare what He has done for my soul. I cried to Him with my mouth, and He was extolled with my tongue)

I am confident you are enjoying this series on counting your blessings and I also hope it’s bringing a positive change in your gratitude lifestyle. However, the focus of our discussion today will be on how to count your blessings. If you are to succeed in counting your blessings, you need to know how to go about it. So, how do you count your blessings?

i. By just starting. I mean start now, right where you are. Start counting your blessings from today. Stop waiting for perfect conditions; start anyhow or any way. Just start; that’s the most important thing. As you start, the rest will follow. Why not start taking the necessary actions today? (Ecclesiastes 11:4). As you start today, you will get better with time.

ii. By going down memory lane. What does this mean? It means thinking of God’s faithfulness in your life. The truth of the matter is that if you think often, you will thank more and if you think less, you will thank less. It’s time to remember God’s faithfulness in your life. This is how to count your blessings. Are you ready to take up this challenge? (Psalm 103:1-5).

iii. By keeping a gratitude journal. A gratitude journal is a book where you note or write down all the things that God has done in your life on a daily or regular basis. This will help you not only to recollect but to also see what the Lord has done. There is power in documentation and you can use a gratitude journal to jumpstart your gratitude lifestyle. It is one powerful way of counting blessings that I have been using for some years now and my life has never remained the same. I believe that your gratitude will go to a new dimension from today also in Jesus Christ’s name, amen.

Thoughts for meditation:

    Just starting
    By going down memory lane
