Proverbs 23verse7 ‘For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.’
You are welcome back to our discussion on changing how you perceive yourself! This is an important part of our lives that needs to be set alright if we fulfill our colorful destiny. My focus in today’s devotional will be on how you are supposed to see yourself. There is a way you are supposed to see yourself and there is a way you are not to see yourself. One means of changing the way you see yourself is by seeing yourself the way you ought to see yourself. This, however, must be a continuous exercise if the effects will be lasting. Eph4v23. So how should you see yourself?
1. See yourself according to your potential and abilities. You know you are capable of so many things than you think and the earlier you start seeing yourself according to your potential, the better for you! Eph4v7. I know we often see ourselves from our point of weakness instead of our strengths, but that has to change now if you want to live a fulfilling Life. So are you ready to make the shift today? Start seeing yourself in terms of your graces and abilities, not your weaknesses and liabilities. Doing this will usher you into a new dimension of victory in Christ. 1Pet4v10
2. See yourself according to His Word. This is a powerful revelation that is capable of changing your life if you get a grip on it. Start seeing yourself the way God sees you, not how people or the world see you. This is why you can authoritatively say I am what God says I am and I can do what God says I can do. But my dear reader, if you will succeed in seeing yourself the way God sees you, you also need to be familiar with the word of God because it’s therein that you find how God sees you. So are you familiar with his word? The more of His word you know and walk in its light, the more the manifestation of such in your life. Isa55v10-11. So it’s time for you to get hold of his word. As you begin to see and walk in the light of how God sees you, you will see a change in your life. Philip4v8: 2Cor 1v20.
3. See yourself according to his grace. See yourself through the finished works of Christ and not from your depraved sinful nature. Don’t ever allow the world or the spirit of condemnation or guilt to overwhelm you but as you focus on what Christ has done for you at Calvary, you will see yourself manifesting the fullness of the life God intended for you! 1Cor15v10: 2Cor5v21
So, my dear brothers and sisters, it’s time for you to embrace these truths in totality! As you do so, I see you walking in the fullness of your heritage as a believer!
