Proverbs16v7: “When a man’s ways please the Lord. He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.”

Welcome back to our discourse on the subject of how to obtain favour. Favour is such an Essential Necessity in someone’s life. This is why you need to know how to activate it or appropriate it into your life. This is what we shall be examining in this series and I am super excited about this series because I believe that it will change your life forever.

As you can see from our text scripture in (Proverbs 16v7), God’s favour is a Powerful Force in a person’s life.

I know you and I do not deserve God’s favour, it’s a free gift from God to us, but it’s the outworking of this favour that we are talking about in this series. So how can you obtain God’s Favour? God’s Favour can be a Living Reality in your life as you:

HOW TO ENJOY GOD’S FAVOR?

1Let your life be pleasing to God. This is what (Pro.16v7) says! Is God pleased with your life? By this, I mean, is your life acceptable or favourable to God? Does he approve or is satisfied with the life that you are living? Your response to these questions will determine to a great extent if your life is really pleasing to God.

My dear reader, living a life that is pleasing to God should be your greatest desire and goal. This is the kind of life that our Lord Jesus Christ lived, no wonder he commanded so much favour in his life (Lk.2v40,52). It’s time to make pleasing God your major priority in life! Place pleasing God ahead of pleasing Men or yourself. You will begin to see a great Difference it will make in your life and work.

So how can God be pleased with your life? This is a very important question to consider at this juncture and the answers are not that difficult. Some of the ways you live a life that is pleasing to God are as follows:

  • Becoming his child. Have you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal Saviour? This is the gateway to becoming pleasing to God. I encourage you to sort this out if you have not done so yet (Pro.15v8, 29).
  • Do his Will. Those who do his will or bidding will find favour easily in his sight. Are you a Doer of his Will or are you just seeking your own will? (Acts 13v22)
  • Live by Faith. Living by faith is one of the ways you can live a life that is pleasing to God. You and I have been called to live a life of faith, so it’s time to make full proof of your calling (Heb.11v6).
  • Being a Blessing. Are you a Blessing or a Burden? Who is getting better because of you? You have been called to be a blessing and not just a receiver, and it does not actually cost much to be a blessing. So stop giving excuses, start from where you are and with what you have, it will surprise how much impact you can make. Are you ready to start today? (Acts 20v35)
  • Winning Souls. Soul Winning is the heartbeat of the Father. So by making yourself a Soul Winner, you will be endearing yourself to the heart of God (Pro.11v30). So my dear brothers and sisters, what’s hindering you from being a Soul Winner today? It’s time to take care of all the excuses and get busy for the Father. I guarantee you that your labours will never be in vain in Jesus name, amen.

2. Learn to seize opportunities when it comes. This is what it takes to attract God’s favour into your life. So what kind of opportunities can you see where you are right now? For Esther, she seized the opportunity of partaking in the beauty pageant in becoming the Queen. Joseph seized the opportunity of being diligent and different in captivity in obtaining favour before Potiphar, Head of the Prison and Pharoah at end of the day (Gen.39v2-6, 21-23: 40v38-39). David was a man of great favour because he also knew how to seize opportunities, whether it was the opportunity of keeping his father’s sheep or going to the battlefield. He utilized it powerfully. So my dear reader, it’s time for you to make the most of the opportunities around you. Stop complaining. Start Prospecting! Start Maximizing the opportunities around you from today. I see a new day unfolding for you.

I can see also a new glory resting on you (1Chro.12v32).

Prayer for Today: Heavenly Father, help me to live a life that is always pleasing and acceptable to you all the days of my life.

CONFESSION: The favour of God is my heritage and lot. God’s favour speaks in my life and works of my hands. As I walk in his favour, I am also increasing in his favour. His favour will not diminish in my life because I always seek to do that which is pleasing in his sight. Holy Spirit, thank you for opening my eyes to the opportunities of experiencing your favour in my life and endeavours. As I seize these opportunities, my life is changing from one level of Glory to another in Jesus name, amen.
