Jn.9 v 31: Now we know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is a worshipper of God and does His will, He hears him.

How is your worship life? It’s apparent that God takes delight in a true worshipper; no wonder He answers their prayers. Worship is actually part and parcel of prayer and in fact, it will even help you develop your prayer life? Are you a true worshipper? If there are true worshippers, then there are also false worshippers (Jn.4v23-24).

To understand who a worshipper is, you need to know what worship is. According to Webster’s Dictionary (1828), worship is the act of paying divine honors to the Supreme Being or the reverence and homage paid to him in a religious exercise, consisting of adoration, confession, prayer, thanksgiving, and the like. So, a worshipper is someone who does this and this is who God wants you to be: a true worshipper, after the order of Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour; a true worshipper after the order of Paul, Solomon, and David to mention a few.

My dear reader, how will you describe your worship life? How can you develop it? The following tit-bits will help you improve your worship life:

  • Be aggressively thankful. Become the kind of believer that always show gratitude and appreciation to God. This is one of the secrets of a true worshipper that you need to imbibe. Are you willing to take up this challenge? (1Thes.5v18).
  • Always show reference and adoration to God. Showing reference and adoration to the Almighty is a sign of humility and it’s a weapon of a true worshipper. Those who show him reference never take him for granted for they have learned the culture of paying homage to the God that has no equal or comparison (Matt.6v9).
  • Always give Him the glory that is due to Him. True worshippers offer to the Lord a befitting glory. They understand the concept of giving the Lord worthy and well-deserving honor (Ps.29v1-2).

Precious child of God, it’s time to take your worship to another level. It’s time to be a true worshipper of God. It’s time to fall in love with Jesus afresh. May this be your experience in Jesus name, amen.
