Proverbs 19:21— AMPC: “Many plans are in a man’s mind, but it is the Lord’s purpose for him that will stand”

Our text scripture in (Proverbs 19:21) affirms authoritatively that God’s purpose is better and superior to our own purpose. Divine purpose will prevail over every other form of purpose. This is why it’s advisable to commit to purposeful living. This has been our focus of discussion for some time now and today I want us to examine another meaning of a purposeful life.

5. A purposeful life is a meaningful life. Life has no meaning without purpose and it is purpose that makes your life meaningful. In fact, life will be empty, worthless, and of no consequence without purpose (Proverbs 16:4). So, have you discovered the purpose for your life? Or are you just drifting through life? Do you understand the meaning of life and why you are here?

What does it take to live a meaningful life?

  • It’s by knowing Jesus Christ. By this, I mean having a personal and intimate relationship with him as your Lord and Saviour. Knowing Jesus makes your life meaningful and colorful. Do you have this experience? Until Apostle Paul met Jesus, his life had no meaning (1Timothy 1:12-15; Isaiah 45:22).
  • It’s by knowing your purpose. Until you find your purpose, your life has no meaning because purpose helps you to understand the reason why you are here. You are not here by accident but by predestination. You are here on assignment and not just to make up the number. So, it’s time for you to actively engage your maker and look inwards in order to understand your purpose. As you look towards your passion, opportunities, abilities, and challenges you have been through, you will discover the reason for your existence. So why not start today?

My dear reader, I know you are interested in living a meaningful life, so why not commit to a purposeful life from today? I guarantee you that it will be one of your best decisions in life.
