Proverbs 19:21 — AMPC: “Many plans are in a man’s mind, but it is the Lord’s purpose for him that will stand”
I have been sharing with you for some time now on the subject of purposeful living. I do hope you are being blessed. Our focus today will be on the third meaning of a purposeful life.
So what is a purposeful life?
3. It’s an impactful life. Yes, purposeful living is about making a difference wherever you are and with whatever you have. Purposeful people are influential people. By this, I mean they influence and affect things and people positively speaking. They leave their footprints on the sands of time because they are difference-makers.
Our Lord and Saviour is a classic example of someone who made an impact anywhere he went (Acts 10:38). Other examples include Apostle Paul, Mother Theresa, Mary Slessor, David Livingstone, et cetera. Are you making any impact with your life? Who is getting better because of you? (Matthew 5:14, 16).
Purposeful Living is about making impact and it’s time to make impact! So, how do purposeful people make impact? They make impact:
- With what they have. There is something you have now that you can make an impact with. What is that thing? (John6:9).
- Wherever they go. The place or circumstance of life that they are does not stop them from making an impact because they are a blessing and not a burden (John 5:35). Making an impact is their lifestyle.
- With whatever opportunity that they have. They have learnt how to maximize the moment as they make good use of the opportunity to do good (Ephesians 5:16).
- Right where they are. They do not allow where they are to dominate them but rather they dominate their environment e.g. Daniel and his 3 friends made a great impact in Babylon because they pursued after Purpose (Daniel 1:17-21).
- Intentionally. They are deliberate about their actions and what they do because they know that time is their life (Luke 4:16-22).
It’s time to live a purposeful life by living a life of impact.

CONFESSION: I live a purposeful life, therefore I make impact everywhere I go and with whatever I have. I am not just a consumer but a contributor. I do not just make up the number but my life is productive and useful. I am a value-added person because I pursue purposeful living. Glory be to God in the Highest.
