Luke 18verse1: ‘There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth.’

I believe that you are enjoying this series on why some of our prayers are unanswered. It has been an eye-opener and I trust that your prayer Life will never be the same again through these series. I have shared so far with you, two areas of inconsistencies in our prayer life, and in today’s lesson, I will be sharing the final one with you. So without much ado, here we go!

3. Inconsistency in our Expectations. This is another major reason why some prayers are not answered. It is important for you not to shift your focus from what you are expecting if you truly want to receive from the Lord because a double-minded person cannot receive anything from the Lord. Jam1v8. Your eyes must be single if you are going to receive from God because a divided focus will not help you to receive from him. Those who are not focused on what they want will either settle for something else or little.

So this is why you need to keep your focus intact and in place. This is a major requirement for answered prayers. This was the secret weapon at work in the life of Elisha as he waited on Elijah. No wonder he got the double portion of the anointing (2Ki2v1-15).

My dear friends, you too need to have this kind of resolution when it comes to waiting for the answers you seek from the Lord. You need to remember that God is faithful and good to the soul that waits for him. So do not allow anything or anyone to move you away from your expectations. As you keep your eyes on the Lord, your expectations will not be cut off in Jesus’ name amen.

Prayer for Today: Oh Lord, I receive your grace to be a doer of this word today in Jesus’ name amen.

CONFESSION: I know that God is still committed to answering prayers because he is ever faithful. Therefore, I believe that as I walk in obedience to these truths, my prayer life is going to be filled with testimonies of answered prayers.
