Ephesians 5verse 16: ‘Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.’

Time is one of the most priceless, precious and valuable commodity or gift that God has given to humanity. This is why you need to make the most of it. And as you can see from our Text Scripture (Ephesians 5verse 16) that God wants you to redeem Time! The idea of redeeming time here means to buy up, to buy all that can be bought not allowing a suitable moment to pass by unheeded. In other words, God wants you to make good use of time. When we take a closer look at this scripture in other translations you will see that this is what is being inferred (As you can see below):

-Making the most of every opportunity because the days are evil -New International Version 

-Make good use of every opportunity you have for doing good -Living Bible 

-Making the very most of the time (buying up each opportunity) because the days are evil -Amplified Version 

-Use every chance you have for doing good, because these are evil times – Contemopary English Version 

My dearly beloved ones it is clear that Time should be properly used and well invested. So why is this important? Why would God want you to make good use of your Time? Let’s consider some reasons for this!

WHY YOU NEED TO MAKE GOOD USE OF TIME?

1. Because Time is your Life. You don’t just spend time, you are also spending life. This is an important revelation you need to have as a person. Your time is your Life or your time is equals to your life. Life is measured in terms of time. Ps90v12; 119v84. So my dear brothers and sisters, this is why you need to use time wisely.

2. Because Time waits for no Man. Yes this is the absolute truth! Time is on the go and the move! And this is true whether you are conscious of it or not! Time is not a waiter but a worker! Time is always on the move.  This is why my dearly beloved ones, you need to make good use of your time. Time is ticking away. It waits for no one in particular. So this is why you need to make hay while the sun shines. Matt25v1-13.

3. Because you are not going to be here forever. By Here I mean on planet earth. Your time is fixed or for a while. This is why you can’t afford to joke with time. Invariably what this means is that you don’t have the luxury of time. This is why you cannot afford to waste time because the opportunities you have today may not be there tomorrow. So my dear friends, start making the best use of your time so as to make something meaningful out of your life and time here! Eccl12v1.

Prayer for Today: Holy Spirit, help me from today to make good use of time and opportunities in Jesus name, amen. 

CONFESSION: My time is my life and my Life is my time! So therefore, I will give no more excuses for using my time anyhow! I am deliberate and intentional with my time! I use my time productively by the wisdom of God and help of the Holy Spirit! This is my new mantra and creed in Jesus name, amen.
