2 Peter3verse18: ‘But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever. Amen.’
Once again, I’d like to welcome you back to our discussion on growing spiritually. I believe that you have been blessed by the truths I have shared with you so far on growing spiritually. In our last lesson, I shared the importance of having a virile prayer life and some of the means of doing this. Today, by His grace, I will be sharing with you the remaining ways of developing your prayer life. So without much ado, let’s examine those principles right away.
HOW TO HAVE A VIRILE PRAYER LIFE:
c. By praying with others. Praying with others helps in developing your own prayer life. It is good to pray alone but it is better to pray with others. So, my dear friends, seize other opportunities to pray with others such as prayer meetings, fasting and praying programs, or all-night prayer meetings to mention just a few. Acts1v14: 3v1: 4v31.
d. By yielding to the prompting or leading of the Holy Spirit to pray. This is another important means of growing your prayer life. At times God gives you a burden or urge to pray. Usually, when this happens, God wants to accomplish certain things in the universe. Your ability to cooperate with God along this line will greatly improve your prayer life. I can attest personally to this and I also believe that this means of praying will also greatly benefit your prayer life too. So, my dear friends, it’s time to take full advantage of this means of praying so that you can grow spiritually. Rom8v26-27; Eph6v18.
e. By praying according to God’s will. Learning to pray according to God will help you develop your prayer life. His will is revealed via his Word. As you begin to pray in line with God’s word, your prayer Life will improve. So always endeavor to find out his will first if you want to be successful in your prayer Life. 1Jn5v14-15; Eph5v17. One of the things that brings frustration in the place of prayer is praying against or outside or even without God’s will. This is also what has made some people lose confidence in their prayers. But this ought not to be so if you start putting priority on God’s will or word. As you do this, I see you waxing stronger and stronger in your spiritual life. I therefore say Congratulations in advance on your new spiritual level.
