Proverbs 26verse2 ‘As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse causeless shall not come.’

There is no doubt about the fact that God answers prayer and this is well documented in the scriptures as we can see from the following scriptures:

– Jeremiah 33v3 (Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.)

-Hebrews 4verse16 (Let us, therefore, come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.)

-Ps65verse2 (O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come.)

But why is it that some prayers are unanswered? This is what we intend to look at in this series of teachings here and I strongly believe that you will be greatly impacted by this series. So why do we have unanswered prayers? Well as you can see from our text scripture (Proverbs 26verse2) there is no smoke without fire! What does this mean? It simply means that there is a cause for every curse! Another way of saying it is to say there is a cause for every effect! So what are the causes behind unanswered prayers? If you are ready to go, so off we go!

REASONS FOR UNANSWERED PRAYERS:

1. Because of Living in Sin.

Sin will keep you away from God just as God will keep you away from sin. If you really want your prayers to be answered, then you must not make a practice of sinning because sin will hinder your prayers from being answered. The evidence of this truth abounds in scriptures as we can see from the following scriptures (Isa59v1-2; Ps66v18). So my admonition to you dear saints is to abstain from making a practice of sinning. Make sure your desire is to please God always and if by any chance you fall into sin, quickly get back into fellowship with God as soon as possible. 1Jn1v9. Just endeavor that sin does not become a way of life for you as a believer.

I know that the word sin means a lot of things to some other people but for you as a believer the following is a description of what sin is according to the Bible:

-The transgression of the law.i.e. The Breaking of God’s commandment. 1Jn3v4.

 -All unrighteousness.1Jn5v17. So any unrighteous stuff is a sin before God.

-Knowing to do good and not doing it. Jam4v17. This is another definition of sin.

-Anything that is not of Faith. Rom14v23.

My dear friends, I believe that you can now see what the scriptures mean by the concept of sin. So endeavour as a true believer not to make a practice of sinning. I sincerely believe that God’s grace will enable you to walk in victory in Jesus’ name amen.
