3Johnverse2 ‘Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul propereth.’
In actual fact, your prosperity starts from the inside out. This is what our text scripture in 3Johnverse2 is saying. i.e., your prosperity in life is determined by the prosperity of your soul. To break free from the stronghold of poverty, you need to pay attention to your mind. Poor thinking will lead to a poor life, while rich thinking will lead to a rich life. So what kind of mindset do you have? And the word ‘mindset’ means the way your mind has been set or programmed. It’s also your beliefs or way of thinking. So, in a nutshell, you need to pay attention to your mindset if you will really prosper. Pro11v25.Your thought life won’t just change like that. You have to commit yourself to the entire process if it’s going to work. So why do you need to pay attention to your mindset? You need to do so because:
1. It’s a determinant of your actions. Your thoughts determine what you do, so if you want to take the right actions, think the right thoughts. Lk15v17
2. It’s a determinant of your beliefs. Your thought influences your beliefs. This is why right thinking leads to right Believing. Right believing leads to the right confession, while right confession leads to the right results. This principle is also true in the reverse order. Ps112v7
3. It’s a determinant of what you become. You will not be greater than your thoughts. The quality of your thinking is what determines the quality of your life. Pro23v7.
My dearly beloved ones, I believe you can now see why you need to start paying attention to the kind of thoughts you are thinking about. As you do this, you will be positioning yourself for the triumphant life in Christ.
