1Chro.22v5: Now David said, “Solomon my son is young and inexperienced, and the house to be built for the Lord must be exceedingly magnificent, famous and glorious throughout all countries. I will now make preparation for it”. So David made abundant preparations before his death.

My dear brothers and sisters, I hope you are getting blessed and lifted through this series of messages on Planning for the New Year. This is one of the primary reasons for this series and, more importantly, to help you get ready for the New Year!

Planning is key and crucial, as you can see from what King David did as per the building of the Temple! He abundantly prepared for it! So, how prepared are you for the New Year? The Greater your preparations, the Better your chances of Winning Big in the New Year! So what plans are you putting in place?

One major thing in preparing for the New Year is knowing how to plan for it! So how do you go about Planning for a New Year? This has been the focus of our discussion, and today, by his grace, I will be sharing with you another Important tool in your planning. So if you are ready for it, here we go!

HOW TO PLAN FOR THE NEW YEAR?
Find out God’s Will/Mandate for you in the New Year. This is an essential component in Planning for the New Year! And what do I mean by this? This has got to do with God’s mind and direction for you in the New Year (Rev.3v6). The truth of the matter is that God has something to say to you concerning the New Year! And the earlier you know this, the better for you because it will greatly help you in your planning for the New Year! The significance of this principle cannot be overemphasized because it will help you not to beat about the bush and also pursue the things that will bring you the greatest returns. So my dear friends, you need to pay attention to what God has to say to you! Don’t embark on the journey of a New Year without his Directions! Let His Words be your Matching Orders and besides, one word from God can change your Life forever! So make sure you give adequate time and attention to finding out his Will for you in the New Year (Ps.25v12-14).

So what exactly does it mean to know God’s will for you? It can mean the following:

a. What is he saying to You? And you need to know that what he is saying to you may be different from what he is saying to me, but it’s important to find it out (Rev.2v7).

b. What is he asking you to do? Part of God’s will for your life includes the task or assignments he has in mind for you. So you need to find out these details (1Sam.23v2).

c. Where is he asking you to go? (1ki.17v2, 9) What paths and direction is he asking you to go or take? This is also another Important detail that you can’t afford to miss.

d. Who is he leading you to? Who are the people or persons he is leading you to? With the right connections in place, you stand a chance of getting to your Expected Destination. So sort out the vital relationships he wants you to connect with (Eccle.4v9; Pro.27v17).

e. What is he revealing to you? What are the dreams, revelations, ideas, concepts etc. he is showing you? (Ps.25v12)

f. What are his agenda and plans for your life? This is another meaning of knowing God’s will for you in the New Year and it’s important for you to find it out (Jer.29v11).

g. What does he require of you? What are the demands or Expectations of God concerning you in the New Year? (Mic.6v8).

These are some of the interpretations of God’s will or mandate for you that you need to sort out in order to have a fulfilling year! So I challenge you from today to start asking yourself these vital questions! Doing this will enable you to make the most of the New Year!
And one major tool in finding out his Will is by spending quality time in the place of prayers and meditation. As you do this prayerfully and with all your heart, God’s will will be made clearer to you! May this be your testimony and Experience in Jesus name, amen.
