Pro.13v22: A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, but the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous.

Dearly Beloved, the issue of building an enduring legacy is something that you ought to be interested in as a believer because the Lord wants you to live a life of impact. This is why we have been sharing this all-important subject matter. And as you can see, the good man in (Pro.13v22) leaves behind a worthy legacy to his children up to the third generation. So what are you going to bequeath to your generation? What kind of legacy are you building? Building lasting legacies is something you can do, and today, I will be sharing another tool that will help you accomplish this. So what is that thing that can help you in building a lasting legacy?
HOW TO BUILD A LASTING LEGACY

  1. Focus on raising or developing Leaders. This is an important ingredient for building an ending legacy. The success of Jesus Ministry here on earth was reflected in the 12 Apostles he raised. Every Moses needs a Joshua. Every Elijah should raise an Elisha. Every Paul should raise a Timothy. Every Mordechai should raise an Esther. So who are you raising? Raising people is not something everybody is doing, for most people are just satisfied with being successful, but success without a successor is a failure. This is why you need to raise or develop leaders. And only a leader can raise other leaders (Matt.4v19; Acts 4v13). Leadership is key and crucial to growth. In fact, everything rises and falls on leadership. Leadership makes the difference, so it’s time for you to work on your leadership ability. The stronger your leadership ability, the better your chances of raising other leaders. So my dear reader, start developing your leadership ability as you cannot lead others beyond your capacity to lead yourself. The more successful you are in leading yourself, the better your chances of leading others.

So what does it take to succeed in raising other leaders as a leader yourself? It takes:

  • Developing your leadership abilities. As you strive to become a better leader, you are also increasing your chances of raising other leaders. So work at becoming a stronger leader yourself.
  • Helping people to discover their own greatness/uniqueness. Everybody carries the seed of greatness; they just need someone to show and also help them to harness it. Will you become that person today? Make up your mind to become a helper of destiny to others from today! (Pro.15v6)
  • Training/Mentoring People. Training involves instruction, demonstrative examples, life experiences, modelling, assessment etc., and it’s usually a demanding exercise, but the price is worth the price. So commit yourself to becoming a mentor or trainer that imparts knowledge, wisdom and experience to those who can pass it on to others. Create a leadership culture where lives are shaped and modelled for greatness (2Tim.2v2). This will yield a harvest of potential and future leaders for the next generation. I pray for you today that you will begin to pay more attention to raising and developing future leaders in Jesus name, amen.

Prayer for Today: Heavenly Father, help me to be a raiser of leaders and not a leader of followers in Jesus name, amen.

CONFESSION: I commit myself to build my influence and impact. As I commit to growing my influence, my leadership ability is getting stronger and better. I seek to become a better leader in all ramifications of life. I am not satisfied with where I am. Lord, take me higher and deeper. I refuse to settle for the status quo. My life shall be more productive and impactful. My fruits shall abide for his glory and my fruits shall stand the test of time in Jesus name, amen. Thank you, Lord, for helping me build a stronger and lasting legacy.
