Lk. 18 v 1: Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart.
Dearly Beloved, according to (Lk. 18 v 1), it’s very clear that God wants you to be prayerful, i.e. to have a regular and consistent prayer life. He doesn’t want you to give up on prayer or be weak in the place of prayer. Often, the reason many are fainting and falling is because of not having a virile praying life. This is why you need to know why you need to pray, and this has been the subject of our discussion. Today, I’ll like to share with you more reasons why you just need to pray.
WHY PRAY?
- Because this is God’s original intention from the beginning. God made man for fellowship, as we can see from the Garden of Eden, and prayer is a vital means of fellowshipping and communing with God. This is why you need to pray because it helps you to relate better with God. So, my dear reader, it’s time to access God through your prayers (Gen. 3 v 8-9).
- Because there is always something to pray about. This is an absolute reality of life. There are obvious needs, issues, and matters of life that require prayer. I believe you agree with me on this. So this is why you need to pray so that you can give expression to those needs. Praise God; we have a caring and loving Father who is ever willing to give ears to your cries and concerns (Heb. 4 v 16).
- Because prayer is good for you. Â This may sound strange, but it’s the absolute truth. Prayer does not change God, but it does change you and things generally speaking. In fact, prayer changes people for the better. You can look at the example of Jacob as he encountered God in (Gen. 32 v 26, 28). My dear reader, I guarantee you that your life will never remain the same again if you sincerely and regularly pray. So I encourage you henceforth to begin to invest quality time in the place of prayer.
- Because prayer is one of the most productive ways of using your time. So whenever you pray, you are investing your time wisely and properly because prayer is one of the most productive things you can do. When you pray, you are not wasting or whiling away time, but rather you are involved with one of the best investments of your time and resources. So, my dear reader, I want you to understand that time spent with God in prayers is time well spent. I, therefore, encourage you from today to begin to make huge investments into your today and tomorrow by the ministry of prayer (Mk. 1 v 35).
- Because of the kind of days that we live in. We are living in a perilous time. Times of uncertainty, fear, insecurities, unrest, turbulence, war, etc. This kind of time calls for desperate actions and this action starts in the place of prayer. To survive, succeed and have significance in this season, you need to be a man or woman of prayer. This is why you need to pray regularly (2Tim. 3 v 1). So it’s time to rise up to this challenge and call to prayer. I pray that your prayer life will never be the same again, amen. Welcome to a new season!

I am being built up, and my life and story are changing for the better because my prayer life is changing for the better.
